SAVANNAH, Ga. – Last week, the expanded Savannah Convention Center signed the National Beta Club to host their 2024 National Convention, making them the first group contract to sign for the expanded space. This citywide event will take place June 9-20, 2024 and will have an estimated total of 14,820 room nights.
“On behalf of the 25,000+ associates that support the Savannah-area hospitality and tourism industry, we say thank you to the National Beta Club for their continued confidence in Savannah and being the first citywide convention to sign on for the new and expanded space at the Savannah Convention Center,” said Joseph Marinelli, president of Visit Savannah. “We have enjoyed hosting this group for many years and look forward to welcoming them back in 2024.”
At the National Convention, Savannah will serve as the perfect backdrop to host students from around the country eager to showcase their talents and academic abilities. The National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America.
“When we first learned about the planned expansion of Savannah’s Convention Center,” says Bobby Hart, executive director of the National Beta Club, “we began planning then for our return in 2024. The city takes excellent care of us, and our attendees and the larger convention space allows us to keep growing in the future.
The expansion will double exhibit hall space to 200,000 square feet, add a 60-foot-wide hangar door, a new 40,000-square-foot ballroom, 15 meeting rooms, 900 space parking garage, additional outdoor space and a new facility entrance with an all-glass facade.
“Everyone here on the convention center staff is especially thrilled to know that the National Beta Club is our first signed contract for the expanded space,” said Sherrie Spinks, general manager of the Savannah Convention Center. “It’ll be fun having them back again!”
